It is always about mixing items, patterns or genres to make a real design impact.  Sometimes it is the graphic patterns we create in custom carpets with our friends at Stark, or the bold framed shell prints found at Trowbridge Gallery.  In this room, our focus was to create an atmosphere of warm sophistication through pattern and texture incorporating a collage of Brunswig & Fils leopard print bed skirts, subtle geometric pattern in the Stark carpet and crisp bedding by Legacy Linens, all of which stands out against the textured raffia herringbone wall covering from Thibaut.  Accents found in the green blown glass lamp with textured raffia shade and tortoise hand-painted headboards and the abalone shell trim on the drapery compliment the collage by layering and accenting other textural elements in the room.  A sophisticated mix always ends up much bigger than the sum of the parts.
